The Big Read: Braiding Sweetgrass

Web link for Braiding Sweetgrass Big Read page — We’ve put all the information you need on this page on the Wisconsin Conference website. We’ll update this page periodically with resources and event links.

Study guide — Members of the Conference’s Creation Care Team have prepared a simple study guide, as an aid to discussion group leaders. It provides discussion topics for 6 sessions, plus a list of useful resources for discussion leaders. It will be available for download the Monday before Labor Day (i.e. by August 30) so you can have it in hand in advance of September programming.

Jump-start your reading program! A Zoom session has been scheduled for Thursday, September 9 (7:00-8:30 pm). Entitled “Get your hands around Sweetgrass:  How to get the most out of your congregational Braiding Sweetgrass reading group experience,” it is aimed at discussion group leaders and other people closely involved in organizing Braiding Sweetgrass groups at congregations. The format will include brief presentations (total: 20 minutes) by three congregational leaders from around the Conference, all with long experience, about a variety of approaches to working with this particular book in the small group context; followed by discussion in breakout groups to provide an opportunity for you to get to know and work with colleagues from other congregations.

Please mark your calendars and register here.
