Let’s do some math on Driving in God’s Garden.

Based on current national averages, you drive 15,000 miles a year in an 11-year-old vehicle that gets 22 mpg and buy 682 gallons of gas (2.50) per year for $1705, but your vehicle also emits 13,620 pounds of CO2 annually into God’s Garden. Driving is definitely a privilege with many benefits but also many environmental consequences.

As a Christian, you want to be a better steward of God’s garden but since your vehicle costs are the 2nd/3rd highest expense in your budget, right now you can’t afford to buy an electric vehicle to help the environment. You may think that you’ll just continue to negatively impact the climate and have no options…but you’d be wrong.

Learn to Drive $mart and save up to $340 per year and lower your CO2 emissions by 2,725 pounds in your current vehicle (based on 20% improvement). Join us in the March 12th at 7pm for the webinar, “Driving $mart in God’s Garden”

Driving $mart in God’s Garden”

As Christians and stewards of God’s Creation, we have a special obligation to use the Earth’s resources in a sustainable and responsible manner as best we can. At this time of environmental crisis, we look at various aspects of our lives and how we can adapt to be more sustainable and responsible for current and future generations.

Since transportation costs are about the 2nd or 3rd biggest budget item with most families, most drivers believe that they have no options to help the environment other than buying a newer more sustainable vehicle. This belief is not correct. Through learning the skills of Driving $mart in God’s Garden, a driver can save you 10-30% or more in financial savings and 10-30% in lowering green house gas emissions all while becoming a safer driver.

Drive $mart Wisconsin has been promoting, teaching and training drivers for 14 years on how to get better mileage and lower emissions in their current vehicles. D$W has trained hundreds of drivers and worked with the City of Milwaukee, Veolia Water, Milwaukee Public Schools and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Water District to achieve savings of 14-28%  by just changing drivers’ habits. D$W “Tools for a Lifetime” training curriculum is based on 80 years of international research and cutting-edge skills developed by some of the most fuel-efficient drivers in the world.

Drive $mart Wisconsin will be an active resource for the Wisconsin UCC Creation Care Team in offering information, tips, and facts on how every driver in each UCC community can become part of the solution to climate change by learning the skills to “Drive $mart in God’s Garden”.  D$W has already partnered with the HOPE Creation Team from the New Hope UCC in Jackson WI. in promoting “Driving $mart in God’s Garden” and has been a resource to the larger community by advocating for Electric and Plug-in electric vehicles with an Electric Vehicle Fair, the first in Washington County.
