Join the Creation Care team for a discussion with Cindy Halfen from Plymouth UCC in Eau Claire about controling invasive plants and planting a prairie.
In 2020 Plymouth UCC, Eau Claire, decided to start a small pollinator garden but as they looked for possible sites they realized the “woods” on the church property was thick with invasive plants. Garlic Mustard was growing in every sunny area and buckthorn was everywhere. With a work group of six people they cleared the invasive plants and started a native pollinator garden.
Cindy Haflin, Plymouth United Church of Christ will lead you through the process.
Cindy came into the process not knowing much about invasive plants. She found helpful resources and helped lead her group in transforming the church property and in the process made connections with the neighborhood.
