To better support congregational efforts to Change Lives through mission outreach and have conversations about race and privilege in the lead up to UCC General Synod 2019 (being held in Milwaukee; for more info click here), the SEA Mission Team is offering two separate Changing Lives Mission Grant opportunities in 2018.
Changing Lives Mission Outreach Grants of up to $250 are available for programs and projects connected to your congregation’s local community such as a food pantry, community meal, after school program, or work you do with a local non-profit. For more information or to download the application see the Changing Lives Mission Outreach Grant App 2018 or click here for the online application. Past grant recipients may apply again this year.
Changing Lives Race and Privilege Grants of up to $100 are available for congregations engaging in conversations about race and privilege, including the Doctrine of Discovery, to print or copy curriculums, purchase books, rent movies, or host speakers. For more information or to download the application see the Changing Lives Race & Privilege Grant App 2018 or click here for the online application.
The SEA Mission Team seeks to support congregations who seek to change lives, their own and others. If your congregation would like support for something not covered in one of these grants, please contact chairperson Christine Wilke at email@example.com.
The Mission Team also seeks to communicate information about Mission Outreach projects as well as projects, workshops, and events throughout the Association, Conference, and Denomination. Whenever possible, we want to connect churches and congregants with similar interests so that they can share information and work together toward a common goal.
