Why Are we Afraid? The Winds and Waves of Race and Privilege
Give a little of your time and get to connect with everyone attending Annual Meeting. Greet friends and acquaintances you haven’t seen since the last Annual Meeting. Your spouse/partner is also welcome to be a volunteer.
Choose from these volunteer opportunities:
REGISTRATION DESK: As people arrive at Annual Meeting you will give them their name badge and registration materials and check them off of the registrants list. You get to sit to do this job! Shifts of one hour are available on Friday morning and afternoon. Click here to sign up.
HOSPITALITY: Help welcome people as they arrive, standing (or sitting) just outside the door to Kraft Hall, and directing people to the registration table and to hotel registration, as well as to their hotel room or cottage. We will provide you with the information for this task. Time slots of one hour each are available on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Click here to sign up.
USHERS: Ushers are needed in the meeting hall during the business meetings. Ushers welcome people, help direct them to open seats, distribute handouts, provide info (e.g. location of bathrooms), collect offerings during worship, and answer attendee questions. Ushers are only “on duty” when there are proceedings in Pillsbury Hall. Training will be provided. Click here to sign up.
SHARE FAIR: Join the fun and be a volunteer for the Share Fair at Annual Meeting! We need greeters, people to help Share Fair exhibitors set up and to help them take down their materials. You will also get to see what over 20 congregations around Wisconsin are doing with innovative ministries in their local church. Click here to sign up.
UCC RESOURCES TABLE: Staff the UCC Resources table in the exhibit hall to accept payments when attendees buy the cool UCC merch hats, shirts, “Be the Church” mugs and bumper stickers and lots more! Get first dibs on the stuff you want! You only work the table during meeting breaks. Click here to sign up.
